Arlene Dubin , Esq.

ARLENE G. DUBIN is a partner at SONNENSCHEIN NATH & ROSENTHAL LLP, a national law firm with over 600 attorneys located in nine offices around the country. Ms. Dubin participates in both the Trusts & Estates and the Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation Practice Groups at the firm. She received her J.D. cum laude from Brooklyn Law School, where she was the Editor-in-Chief of the Brooklyn Law Review. A graduate of the College of Arts and Sciences of Cornell University, where she majored in political science, she also holds a master's degree from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.

Ms. Dubin is the author of Prenups for Lovers: A Romantic Guide to Prenuptial Agreements, which was published in 2001 by Villard Books, a division of Random House, Inc. She has been interviewed by Katie Couric on the "Today" show, has been featured in cover stories on "Entertainment Tonight" and participated in a half-hour show on "Marriage, Money and Prenups" presented by the Public Broadcasting Corporation. She has appeared on numerous other television and radio shows, such as CNN's "Power Lunch," "The Early Show," "The Sally Jesse Show," "The Judith Regan Show" and National Public Radio. Numerous national publications, including Time, Forbes, Money and USA Today, have quoted her.

In addition to her extensive experience in negotiating prenuptial, postnuptial and cohabitation agreements, Ms. Dubin has provided general counseling and compliance services for a broad range of employee benefit plans, including retirement and welfare benefit plans. She has extensive experience in the design, drafting, amendment and termination of 401(k), defined benefit, profit sharing and nonqualified deferred compensation plans and advises on employee and employee plan issues in mergers, acquisitions, corporate dispositions and financings.

Ms. Dubin has expertise in the negotiation of employment contracts, termination agreements and non-competition agreements. She advises on compliance with federal, state and local employment laws in a wide variety of areas, such as the avoidance of unlawful discrimination, hiring and firing in the workplace and sexual harassment.

She has served as Chairman of the Employee Benefits Committee of the New York County Lawyers' Association and has contributed to the multi-volume treatise, "New York Employment Law," published by Matthew Bender.

Ms. Dubin is a member of the New York Collaborative Law Group, New York State Bar Association, American Bar Association and The Association of the Bar of the City of New York. She is admitted to practice in New York, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York and U.S. Tax Court. She has practiced law for 22 years.
