Rita
Gilbert , Esq.
Ms. Gilbert is the sole proprietor of the law firm of HYMAN & GILBERT and is licensed to practice law in all courts of the States of New York, Florida and Connecticut. She received her law degree in the first graduating class of PACE UNIVERSITY LAW SCHOOL in 1979 after having received her Undergraduate Education at HUNTER COLLEGE, CUM LAUDE and a Masters Degree at JOHNS HOPKINS UNIVERSITY. Ms. Gilbert also received a Fulbright Scholarship in 1964-65 and is the author of two publications entitled, "Finding Your Way Throughout The UCC, Article 9" and a co-author of the book entitled "Paralegals and Successful Law Practice."
Ms. Gilbert holds memberships in the American Bar Association, New York State Bar Associations, New York State Women's Bar Association, Westchester County Bar Association, Westchester Women's Bar Association (former Co-Chair of the Trusts & Estates and Matrimonial Section), New Rochelle Bar Association, Larchmont, Mamaroneck and Harrison Bar Associations (Treasurer), Estate Planning Council of Westchester, and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. She is the former delegate for the Ninth Judicial District to the Elder Law Section of the New York State Bar Association, and is currently the Chair of the Family Law Committee of the Elder Law Section. Ms. Gilbert has spoken on both Estate Planning and Matrimonial Law before the New York State Bar Association, Legal Awareness of Westchester (now known as the Pace Women’s Justice Center), and business and community groups throughout the State. She is the past chairperson of the Westchester Community Foundation, the Benjamin N. Cardozo Society of the UJA Federation, and author of the chapter on Trusts in the latest edition of Warren's Weed, New York Real Property Law.
